Geekzone (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/default.asp?) have an interesting article (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=3585) about Sandisk's new card readers. They are very small, plug straight into the usb port (USB 2.0), and the card plugs straight into the reader.

Two versions are available, one for SD/MMC and similar cards, the other for memory stick and memory stick pro cards.

These are a great idea. They are small enough to carry around in your pocket, and are a lot faster when you want to transfer many or large files to or from your cards.

Ahh that sounds great. Slow speed of USB devices has always unnerved me. There is also a new generation of USB2.0 flashsticks hitting the market now, supposedly at least twice as fast previous sticks. Yummy!

I see these as a real alternative to the dedicated flashsticks. They look to be about the same size, will have USB 2.0 speed, and you can plug any of your cards into them (I have 2 at the moment, and plan on getting a 512MB sd card soon (they're only about $118 AUS now (about $87US at current rates).
