Our Internet provider is currently facing a malicious DDoS attack. They're working to mitigate the issue, both at our network, and with assistance from Internap.
The DDOS attack has made our switch become unresponsive at this moment. We have lost connectivity at around 1:50 PM. No ETA as to when this can be resolved.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Seems like the site is back, or else I was just lucky to get in, but either way apparently someone thinks MobileRead is big enough now to go after! :)

It is still under fire. A new firewall should be installed in front of the switch within the next hours, that is if car traffic in Boston is low :|

The attack was - luckily - not directed at us. But it was directed at someone else's server who happens to share the same datacenter with us. The switch in front of our servers was overloaded with packets it was trying to filter out... that is why basically the entire network behind it has collapsed.
Let's hope the situation soon calms down again.
Oh bummer. Alex I am sure your site is going to be back to normal in no time. I always appreciated the fast loading times here, and I am sure others have as well.

I'm accessing the site from Australia, and the speed seems ok now. Hopefully things are settling down...

We have a Freebsd-based firewall in place now. Let's see how it goes.
A picture for your entertainment (before, during, and after the attack):
