I've been trying to re-do my signature. Whenever i put in anything other than 2 point fonts the software gives me an error bessage that my BB code is too large. I had my big "L" in 7 point forever, and it never gave me hassles. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried it, and I can't get above 2 either. So, it's certainly not you ... it's the site.

Could you try again? We recently upgraded our forums and added new features... one of them was a default signature fontsize limit.

Well what I meant to say is that we didn't specifically change any settings. We do upgrade our forum regularly though and it happened that the developers introduced a new default signature limit that we missed to adjust again ;)

Anyway it should work again.

I have a request. Could we limit the font size for signatures? Some people are posting with very large, pointy letters. Someone could get hurt.

Thanks! It's really hard to run a retro-chronic presidential campaign when the media is conspiring to minimize your message.

Zelda - Bobo is a clown. Boo-boo is a small injury.

And also an animated bear, but that's another story.

hm. in french, "bobo" is a small injury. Auguste (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clown) is a clown.

Yeah. So GeoffC should really be providing those chocolate pads - so we can start finding useful uses for them.

...stupid client phone calls interrupting me...

Zelda, just out of curiosity, is there a clear difference in commonly spoken French between "stupid client phone calls" that distinguishes "phone calls by stupid clients" instead of "stupid phone calls by clients"? Of course, it's possible for it to mean "stupid phone calls by stupid clients", too.

Feel free to ignore this question. Talk about your stupid questions by stupid forum comembers!

zelda_pinwheel
06-11-2008, 11:49 AM
well, since french puts adjectives after the nouns they modify (clients débiles, appels stupides, questions bêtes...) you can pretty easily specify which noun exactly of the sentence you are modifying.

un coup de fil débile d'un client = a stupid phone call from a client
un coup de fil d'un client débile = a phone call from a stupid client
un coup de fil débile d'un client débile = a stupid phone call from a stupid client

sadly, i am frequently plagued by this problem in all its intricate and multi-form variety.

If these are the results then I'd like to suggest putting the limit back in. The big L was bad enough, but I really don't like when you basically read the signature before you see the message.
I know I can disable the signatures, but that would hide them all and I do like a few.

Taylor514ce

I have to agree, igorsk, though I enjoy both of those people and their posts immensely, a thread full of giant signatures is a bit distracting.
