I ordered a PRS-505 this weekend and it is supposed to ship today. Does anyone know where they ship from? Do they come from overseas or from somewhere in the U.S? I am leaving for vacation on Thursday and thought I selected 2 day shipping. But my website order says "Expedited shipping", which can be 3 to 4 days according to their website. So I am attempting to figure out if it might make it here based on where it is shipped from and where I live. So, anyone know what state it is coming from?

My 505 shipped from Texas, arrived in 2 days via Fedex. I had ordered it from the Sony website

Mine shipped from San Diego, which was nice because that's where I am!

Thanks! I am on the East Coast, so if they are coming from Texas or San Diego, it isn't looking too good. Ah well, one never knows. Perhaps I will get lucky. I am not leaving until late Thursday evening, so there is always a chance....

Carlsbad is part of San Diego County.

I'm bummed it didn't even ship today. I ordered it Saturday morning and it said June 2, 2008 as the shipping date. But I just checked the order status and it is still listed as "processing".

It is in stock, I don't know why they didn't ship it. :blink:

No such luck. I shot an e-mail to Sony and learned that the engraving is holding the process up. It adds 24-48 hrs. onto an order. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have bothered with the engraving. I only did it because it was free. But the website shipping date doesn't reflect that the engraving will take longer. So, I have a 6/2/2008 shipping date, when in fact it will ship on either 6/4 or 6/5.

Yeah, it was a quick, "oh that will look kind of nice" thing I hurriedly did. Given a second chance, I wouldn't do it again.

Oh well. I have someone here at the house who can forward it to me once it arrives. I just get overly impatient when I want my new "toy"!

Oh Joy! Oh Rapture Unforeseen! It is here!! It came overnight mail!! I didn't order that shipping method, so I wonder if the customer service person I emailed made a note of my mention that I was leaving for vacation this week, because it went from Carlsbad, CA to the East Coast in about 17 hours!!

I think Sony bumped up the shipping for me. It is lovely little device and the engraving looks great.
