hello

Last night, as I was reading, the book stopped responding, so I thought that the battery was out and hooked it up to be charged overnight.

This morning, It won't start up, It was stuck on the picture of the double USBs for a while, so I decided to reset it. I have done this several times already and the book keeps getting stuck on the first image with the big cyboook picture on it. what do I do?

thank

Snag yourself a copy of update_kernelb538.zip and re-install that version of the firmware is one thing you could do.

But before you do that, could you remove the SD card and then hit reset?

I tried it without the card and it still did not start.
However, as a last ditch attempt, I put the latest firmware update on the SD Card, and then I started the book while pressing both the power button and the enter button simultaneously quite hard for a bout half a minute. That started the update again and it's working now.

Thank you for your reply.

HOORAY!!! :2thumbsup

I am glad that 'fixed' your problem. Yeah, sometimes when an ebook reader gets messed up, it can be quite hard to figure out how to 'un-brick' it. You might also want to make sure you do a "Safely Remove Hardware" process every time you disconnect a turned-on Cybook from the PC. Failing to do so can result in the Cybook getting its filesystem corrupted - and that can be difficult for a neophyte user to correct.
