Full title: "The Tremendous Adventures of Major Gahagan".
Satirical work describing the completely outragous exploits of "Major Goliah O'Grady Gahagan, H.E.I.C.S.", in India, in which he single-handedly defeats entire armies of rampaging natives, kills 134 elephants with a single shot, and many other heroic exploits.
Horribly "un-PC" by today's standards, but extremely funny.
This book, like many other of Thackeray's works, is based on his experiences growing up as a boy in India.
Enjoy!
