Hello, I am new to this forum so I apologize if this post is in the wrong place. I received my PRS-505 today, fired it up and nothing in my e-books device manager. I noticed the drivers are not recognized in my Windows XP Device Manager. I also noticed that on the back it makes mention that the PRS-505 complies with CANADIAN IECS-303. Problem is I'm not in Canada I'm in the US. Could this be a problem. Thanks gang. Also read that I have to direct Driver to WINDOWS MASS STORAGE DRIVE? How do I do that?:help:

IF your using Windows XP you don't really need any drivers. If a USB drive works in your PC, the 505 should work. When you plug it in do you see it as a drive on your system?
It is possible to turn auto-mount off.... but most people don't do that.

Is it fully charged and turned on when you plug it in? If it isn't charged you won't see it as a device. Leave it plugged into a powered USB socket to charge. Then, unpulg it and turn the device on. While it is on, plug it to the USB cable again... after a few seconds XP should see it, and mount it.

Try another USB cable and/or port on the PC. Does the Reader screen change into "USB connected" one? Does the red charging light light up?

use Windows Update to be sure you have the latest updates

I would leave it connected to a usb port directly connected to your computer (power) and let it charge for an hour or so. If not, hit the reset button on the back for a few seconds and power it on and off again.

HI!
I'm using a Windows XP
I received my sony reader last week. I downloaded the adobe reader. That was successful. but, when I tried to download the ebook library I almost succeeded until the message appeared that told me that my system has not been modified.
What does that mean and how can fix this so called problem
