‘The Gospel of Buddha’ Compiled from ancient records by Paul Carus (1894).
This has also been published under the title, ‘Buddha: The Gospel.’
Carus has selected and translated passages from the Buddhist scriptures in order to form a narrative of the Buddha’s life and teachings. He has also included a number of Buddhist parables, many of which have similarities with later Christian parables.
This is the first edition – later versions differ slightly, particularly in the translations of verse passages.
