Also at Worldcon this year there will be a special track called "The Technology of Reading":

Described as:

Fans love reading, from novels to fanzines to progress re ports. As such, we are really excited to bring our Exhibition Event, The Technology of Reading, to Denver and to Fandom. We plan to have a full track of panels and roundtables on the subject, covering everything from ancient calligraphy to how computer chat is changing our language. We will present demonstrations of papyrus and paper making, modern eBook readers and perhaps a few surprises in between. We will also be hosting an exhibit displaying these various technologies and their products.

Since membership costs $50, the ebooks aren't exactly free.

Oh, isn't everybody a member already :)

It is a supporting membership that costs $50 and for that you can vote for Hugo and you can vote for were the Worldcon will be held in a couple of years. Attending membership is $200.

I have the habit of attending Worldcons and they are very fun and interesting and I can recommend them.

For last year's worldcon, most of the novels up for the Hugo were online for everyone. It's a shame that this wasn't continued.

Yes, it is. I know a lot of people that could read them and vote just because they were easily available. And I have not got my ebooks yet...

Perhaps Fictionwise can start having the Hugo nominees for free download, as they do the Nebula nominees. Anyone at Fictionwise listening? :)
