TigerDirect.com has a Kingston 256meg SD card (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=712813&sku=K24-9332&CMP=EMC-TIGEREMAIL&SRCCODE=WEM750BB) available for $19 after a $10 rebate. A great deal on a name brand card. Now I want a good deal on a 1 gig card!!

Thanks for the link Bob. Anyone know about the PQI brand? Or are all SD cards more or less made equal these days?

I would like to know too...

I bought three 128MB PQI CompactFlash memories two years ago. One of them was incredibly slow, the other two have behaved very well. So I would say their quality is irregular.
Or I had bad luck.
Later I bought a Lexar memory and I could easily notice the difference in quality: it's faster and I feel it's better built.

Btw, Amazon offers (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000AKVJC/ref%3Dnosim/techbargainscom/102-3125883-6256150) a Sandisk 512MB SD card for $39.94 (list price: $249.99!) after rebates (valid till 9/19).

Wow! That's an incredible price! I have a 256 meg card now, and was holding out for a gig, but at that price I may jump for the 512... And Sandisk is a good name.

Well... J&R had the Sandisk 1GB card for $69.88 after rebates. Unfortunately, it is now out of stock.
