make sure link-depth is set to 0.

As time permits, I will write a module specifically for offline browsers!

Do you want the news or forums? Can you post links of exactly what sections you wish to view? MobileRead is pretty Palm-friendly already. It only takes a couple exclusion filters to keep things small. I can probably help out.
