I'm still looking hard at the Dell x30 and I have a question about wireless PPCs. Can you play music on the PPC over a network from another computer? stream it, basically from a host machine? I've been thinking about what I would do with the wireless connection, and this seems like a pretty killer app, if I can do it. What can ya'll tell me?

While I am still curious about this and hope for an answer, I realize that you could much more efficiently download the music files that you want to play and then turn off the wifi to save battery. So how about this one: can you do internet radio with wifi on a PPC? Seems like you must be able to, right?

I'd check if the PPC supports Real audio or the streaming of MP3s. Definitely sounds like a cool idea, though!

I've read instructions somewhere for doing that with a Clie TH-55. Sorry, but don't remember where I saw it or the details. Maybe PalmAddict? It might even be a standard feature of newer music players on Palm? There's a new Palm coming out soon, probably with both bluetooth and wifi, plus hires+... you don't have to go over to the dark side!

BTW: interesting article about wireless transfer speeds (http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Sections-article89-page1.php) at Tom's Networking (http://www.tomsnetworking.com).
