Hi all,

I have been watching the eBooks and waiting for ages, but the Iliad is still overpriced and lacking features. So in the meantime I've given up and bought my first ever Sony device, a PRS-505. As you can tell it's more of a "sigh, I suppose so" than a "wow, I want one!" decision, I'm just sick of waiting for the A4 size version of the Iliad to arrive with the speed and battery life of the Sony. I'm really hoping that I'll be comfortable reading the e-ink and that the Sony works for me. I read science fiction pretty voraciously as well as a pile of blogs, so between Tor/Baen and a blog-scraping tool that no doubt I'll find here, I should have enough content to keep me going. I'm also curious about the usefulness of electronic magazine subscriptions that arrive as colour jpegs, so I'll be roaming around here a bit.

Yay! I just received my eBook now and I'm currently copying the DVD of PD ebooks off the DVD so I can start loading it up. My workmates are all impressed with the screen. Me, I'm felling unwell... I might have to take the rest of the day off to go home and lie in bed :)

Very impressed with it so far, even the photos look better than I had feared.

there's a terrible affliction going around here ; if you get the same one, you might need to take several days off in fact. i had it, strangely enough just after my own eb1150 arrived in december. ;)
