Hi!

I just purchased a 1GB high speed memory stick pro duo and stuck it in my prs-500 (with adapter). Then I went to the Sony UI and added a couple of music mp3 in there. I noticed something strange.

When playing the music, once in a while I hear a half a second short burst of noise (something like when the track slips on the cd). This happens about once in 30 seconds or so.

This does not happen when the music is on the device memory.

Any ideas? do I need to format the card or buy a new card? or is it because there is mismatch of speed between the card and device.

Thanks
SK

Okay after doing some more research I found that if I load the music file to the memory stick pro duo (High speed) using an adapter and directly from the computer, it runs fine.

It happens only when I drag and drop the music file to the memory stick folder within the Sony Desktop program (when the MS is in the device).

Has anybody seen this before?

I may be wrong but I don't think that many use the 505 as an mp3 player, I know that I don't. I have an ipod for that.

Agreed, I do not use it to listen to music but I listen to audio books on 500.

I do not feel like carrying many devices each doing different things.

The problem still remains.

Thanks
