Augustine was a wealthy Roman, born to luxury in North Africa, he lived a life of excess, married, taught school in North Africa and Rome itself, divorced his wife to make a better marriage and finally, returning to his home in Hippa, he converted to Christianity and ended life as a Christian bishop.
