How does the cursor work? It looks like a white rubber band with rectangular holes which allow you to see the mirror underneath, But the number of holes changes dynamically as the size of the region of text that needs to be highlighted changes.

Tell me it's magic and I'll half believe you.

It is an LCD with a silver back.

So you're saying that the black in a normal LCD display is really transparent with a black background showing through?
