A nice mystery by Charles Wadsworth Camp.
Camp served in World War I, and afterwards suffered from respiratory problems due to exposure to mustard gas. He wrote mystery and horror fiction, and was a drama critic and journalist.
I was surprised to learn that he was the father of author Madeleine L'Engle(A Wrinkle in Time).
