The text of this epistolary novel is derived from an untitled manuscript of 1805. However, it was probably written in 1793-4. Lady Susan was unpublished in Jane Austen’s lifetime, eventually getting into print in 1871.


Can the Vernon family frustrate the plots of the cunning and selfish Lady Susan? Or will she arrange and unhappy, but financially beneficial marriage for her innocent daughter?

I tried the Sony Classics version but found it very poorly formatted, so made this up instead.
