This may be a dumb question, but how do I change the root password for dropbear/ssh? I installed this version of unbrickable (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=68827&postcount=15), rebooted the iliad, found the ip address and attempted to login. I tried no password, and a few other likely candidates to no avail.

I tried using passwd in an mrxvt terminal on the iliad to set a new password: I could enter the command passwd and got the prompt, but could not enter the password (it just stays there on the keyboard and does not move to the terminal).

I think there is something very basic that I must have missed. Could someone help me?

Thanks.

The default password of the unbrickable package is rootme.

When you use the passwd command, the terminal will not show you output when typing. You will have to enter your password twice to verify it.

Great! Thanks, that did it.
