I would be grateful if someone could help me, I have just purchased an ebook from books on board.com and have downloaded it using ' adobe digital editions' but i have tried every thing to transfer it on to my prs 505sc but every time I try to put it on to my ebook libary it says error, I am at my wits end. Would any one know how I can do this?

You can't read DRMed Adobe PDFs on the 505. They won't work. Sorry. I would recommend avoiding PDFs entirely.

Are the Adobe Digital Editions really PDFs? I had thought it was a new format entirely, one that would be more easily displayed on different devices with different sized screens.

And in any event, the Sony readers do not (yet) support Adobe Digital Editions.

Adobe DE supports epub, which is the new standard for e-books, and PDF files.

While Sony Readers read pdf files, they do not read those that are encrypted for copy protection. All major publishers and most smaller publishing houses encrypt their ebooks for copy protection; this includes their Adobe format ebooks.
