Hi!

Has anyone managed to run Wikipedia from http://pinguinburg.de/wpmp on the cybook? After i downloaded, unpacked and copied the 1.3gb german version to the cybook nothing happens. All i get If i change to lookup mode, select a word and press "enter" (=middle button) is a "no entry" message.

I would appreciate any hints!

I've been wondering about this too. Having wikipedia on cybook would be great.
Let us know what you find.

It looks like the cybook doesn't support multipart books, and the wpmp project is nothing more than a huge multipart book. So until this feature isn't hacked into a new firmware or a SDK is released, there is little hope for a detailed wikipedia on the cybook.

Well I do use a Wikepedia on my Cybook. However, it is a 2005 version without images (230 mega) which I have downloaded from beam-ebooks some time ago. (I have reported this in another thread on this forum).

However, I am not overly excited about this because one can only use it via the look-up function. Since, as you know, there is no word input on the Cybook it is not possible to navigate within the encyclopedia (except once you are in to use the hyperlinks).

I didn't really have a look at the wikipedia files yet, but maybe it would be possible to adapt it so one could go to the words via an index.
I have added TOCs to html files automatically with the Mobipocket Creator, it depends a lot on the html file, though. For most files I had the chapter headers were formatted as a heading (e.g. <h1>, <h2>, etc.). The Mobipocket Creator can automatically insert a TOC based on all <h2>-Tags, e.g. Worked like a charm as long as the html was formatted cleanly and headings not used to emphasize certain words/sentences in the middle of the chapter as some people do.
So if the words in those wikipedia files are formatted with a unique tag (any will do, doesn't have to be a <h1>), it would be possible to generate a TOC. Given the large number of words one would have to add links for the 26 letters manually otherwise the TOC alone would take ages to page through, but that sounds moderately hard to do (it is possible to manually change the files Mobipocket Creator creates and after that generate the .prc.
Likewise it is possible to add pictures and other stuff to a book, although pictures (haven't tried anything else yet) always seem to get added at the end, no matter where I position them in Creator and they are not listed in the GoTo-Section (even though Creator says they would). This is, btw, not a Cybook issue, I have the same behaviour on my PC version of the Mobipocket Reader.

Although im not sure, I think that there is a size limit on mobi files, preventing a merge of all the wikipedia files from the wpmp wikipedia project.

I just got my cybook and the first thing I tried out was to put the german WP on the cybook.
Right now it is realy unuseable, because I'm not able to look up anything.
It works in that way, as I can read every WP book by it self, and I can navigate with hyperlinks inside ONE book, but crosslinks do not work.
The Index book is totaly useless, because on the one hand, I'm not able to look up words, on the other hand, if I could lookup words, I would not be able to use the link to the article (which is in another book).

Yep! The Bookeen software specs website says "Hyperlink . . . Not applicable to hyperlink which points outside the document." A bummer! I would like to be able to jump from one html page to another in a folder.
