Does the 505 ship with any content pre-loaded? Just wondering if I'm going to be able to play with it out of the box, or whether I will need to download a book first. Thanks in advance.

Well I"m not sure but I think it only has a partial book loaded on it. I downloaded the Connect Software and purchased several books already...as well as added some free classic titles from this site. So as soon as I have the reader I can immediately load some books onto it.

I figured I was like most people and downloaded the library software and bought some books to read on my PC while I waited for the device to arrive. When it gets here, I'll register it with the software I've already installed and download my ebooks and not be tied to my laptop any more.
