Well anytime I take the dummy SD card out, and insert a fat formatted SD Sandisk 512 MB card. The device locks up.

If I leave the card out...it locks up.

If I put the original dummy card back in, everything works fine.

Does this happen to anyone else?

It's a known bug in the most recent software release (2.11), lots of people have run into it. I would assume iRex is going to fix it for the next release. No announcement that I remember seeing on when that will be though. In the meantime, you need to power down the iLiad in order to change cards.

So it is only when doing a hot swap of the cards? If I power down first then replace the card, it should be fine?

I haven't tried it, but that's my understanding. Hot swapping the cards causes it to lock up, but if you put one in and then power it on you should be able to read it fine.
