It IS their site :)
They have script which redirects browser from www.jinkie.com.cn to this unnamed site. I've just "found" it with a little of invention...

All I get on my IE7.0 browser is a 'cannot display this page' message. Bad links as far as I can tell. And I've tried linking over at various times of the day. Anyone got the RAR file hosted somewhere I can just D/L from?

It strange that in a world of opera, firefox and other great free browsers still many people are using Internet exploiters....
Anyway link is working just fine with ff, but here are the links for you: Original (http://61.181.14.185:8088/RetailWeb/V3update-hanlin-1.24-20071207.rar)

what's even funnier is that most of China relies on internet explorer, yet the web designer wrote a script that only works in non-IE browsers! most chinese stuff doesn't work in firefox. I'd rather it work in firefox than IE though.

New firmware available from the Ukrainian V3 site (LBook V3). Suppose in a day or two it will be available on the Jinke website also.

As the major improvements, I can mention new FB2 reader plugin (with posiblity to change many text parameters, such as Font Family "on the fly" and many others) and ZIP/RAR support improvements.

Thanks for the heads up, torbich. I'm downloading it right now and will try it out as soon as I can spare an hour or two either this evening or over the weekend.

Gudy I tried this new firmware and cannot recommend it - yes, V3 opens ZIP/RAR archives now, but it opens single .fb2.zip files as archives too - one more click to open a book, but it isn't the worst. The worst is that the new firmware forgets text position when opening a book from an archive. Just quit from an archive - and you cannot return to last reading position :( I would recommend to wait for a fix.

Thanks, torbich!

I just saw that the new firmware is no longer available from the lBook site, so I think I'll wait for now...

Btw, if you want to add new fonts to this new firmware, you need to create a folder /crengine/fonts on the SD card and copy your favourite fonts (up to 10, and it is better to include italic, bold and bold italic too) there.

Anyone else getting a beeping error message, a red led indicator and the message: "Invalidate File Please Check Your Update File" error message when trying to do the update?
Tried resetting the device. Get the message with both the Hanlin as well as the Lbook firmware.

Hi,

I've updated from my previous lBook firmware (the Stonian one) but I have I problem, now I can't see from the file browser the book name and writer as before, just the file name (I'm talking about FB2 files) :(

Is there any way to fix it?

By the way, my fonts are also smaller than before. The only good thing I can see is that loading times are smaller (from 1:03 minutes to 43 seconds in my current book).

Regards

I've had no problems updating with the lBook firmware, only with using it afterwards. Zipped fb2 files no longer work. At all.

Update: Was my misstake. I'd used the SD card for something else last month and it had been reformatted.. However it was formatted using FAT32. Reformatting to FAT16 solved the problem.
