I installed Libprs500 0.4.24 today and elected to also install the device drivers. I uninstalled the Sony drivers as directed by the installer. Now when I call up libprs500.exe it does not seem to recognize my reader. The only icon in the window is "Library", and the "Send to Device" button is greyed out. My reader is connected and I have the usb icon on the reader itself to show the computer recognizes it. How do I get Librs500 to see it? My reader is the PRS500.

Does windows give you a message about new hardware being detected?

No, but when I go into Device Manager I see "Sony Reader" listed under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". And, I show "USB Connected" at the bottom of the reader in addition to the USB icon on the screen.

try removing the device entries, uninstalling and re-installing libprs500.
