I enhanced our RSS feed support. If your RSS Reader supports RSS2.0, use the following feed in future:

http://www.mobileread.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2

or, if you only want to be updated on frontpage articles, use:

http://www.mobileread.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=front

New: Article content, links, images, etc. are preserved.

If you don't have a RSS Reader yet, I heartly recommend FeedDemon (http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/index.asp) (MS Windows), which costs $29.95, and is the best Reader I've seen so far. If you run Mac OS, NetNewsWire (http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/) is your choice!

I have to admin I didn't know much about RSS & co. before. For all other newbies, I found this interesting read (http://www.mezzoblue.com/archives/2004/05/19/what_is_rssx/) that should explain it all ;)

If you are still not convinced of the benefits of RSS, you should have a look here:

Alex Barrnett has done a fabulous job of detailing RSS vs. e-mail.

PC-World has published a new chart listing the pros and cons of various RSS Readers:

Alex, do you have a recommendation for a Linux RSS reader?

BTW, a surprising number of the links in the PCWorld article are wrong, extra dots, www where it shouldn't be, etc. If you can't get a link to work, examine it...

Alex, do you have a recommendation for a Linux RSS reader?
If you use KDE, try aKregator: http://akregator.upnet.ru/
For Gnome, I suggest Liferea: http://liferea.sourceforge.net/

Of course, you can also use Liferea with KDE ;)

Thanks Alex. I'm also a big fan of the RSS Sidebar in Mozilla/Firefox, but it's good to have options...

ignatz, 'yet another' Linux RSS Reader: http://yarssr.sourceforge.net/

It's new, but perhaps worth a try.

I updated our feed generator to allow you to only receive news on frontpage articles. If you don't like to be updated on forum posts other than frontpage news, use this link instead:
