Does Aircrack NG work for the iLiad? Which network card is installed? Is the CPU strong enough to search for the key?

CPU might run a little slow for this sort of thing, though may not be a problem depending on the strength of the network, and the number of weak samples you come across, the bigger two issues are

1) Only certain network cards support the PEEK call which allows aircrack to work, Orinico and Prism cards are generally the ones that work, also Aetheros, I don't know what is in the iliad, but somehow I doubt it is one of those.

2) Now I generally don't follow up to much on how aircrack works, but last I checked (when WEP cracking first came about) it required a fair amount of disk space to store the encrypted messages, which generally is a bit of an issue on the Iliad.

You need around 800 - 1100 MByte free space. The actual sniffing doesn´t take so much processor speed. The actual cracking was around 4 minutes (3,6 GHZ Celeron) - the iLiad should need more time for that.

However, even with those possible limitations aside, we come to another problem.

Currently aircrack-ng does not provide support for the MRVL_CF8385 wireless card (module cf8385), I could not find any patched version of this driver either which allow you to peek, or inject packets. I am not sure if it is possible (though I imagine it is), but this will have to be overcome before aircrack-ng will work.

Other tools like airsnort and kismet have even greater limitations, supporting typically Aetheros, Prism and Orinico cards only.
