Did you have to install a driver to get it to work? mac 11-15-2007, 03:59 PM I bougth it in that spanish site http://online.farandsoft.com/shop/detalle.asp?ida=500100221 I think you can found it other sites Yes " tabletkiosk" (if you see the vendor web page say "targus" but it not true) Only need the keyboard sever for iliad http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=63656&postcount=16 Barcey 11-15-2007, 04:23 PM Are you sure that's not the Kindle?:D NatCh 11-15-2007, 04:45 PM Are you sure that's not the Kindle?:DNaw, the Kindle is fugly, remember? rai 01-20-2008, 08:24 AM I'm thinking of buying this keyboard, and I'd like to hear some experiences with iLiad? Is it working out for you, people? :) Thanks! carandol 01-20-2008, 08:58 AM Cool! This led me to look on EBay for such things -- I did a search for "mini usb keyboard" -- and I've just paid out the princely sum of £6.98 for a rubber usb keyboard you can roll up. I'll let folks know how well it works with the Iliad. If it plays nicely with Abiword, I need never lug my laptop about again! :-) rai 01-29-2008, 07:59 AM Only need the keyboard sever for iliad http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=63656&postcount=16 So, all I need to do is first install the program from your link and hook up the keyboard? mac 01-29-2008, 03:23 PM You must install the program in CF or SD/MMC (I think only unzip is necesary, now I don`t remember). Conect your keyboard. Trun on your iliad. Run from counter list the program (only one time, if you run it two you have the same key two times), and all its do. carandol 01-29-2008, 04:27 PM You must install the program in CF or SD/MMC So does this mean you can't use a keyboard unless you've got an expansion card? I was hoping I could manage without one... rai 01-29-2008, 06:50 PM You must install the program in CF or SD/MMC (I think only unzip is necesary, now I don`t remember). Conect your keyboard. I was hoping I could manage without one... No, I actually installed the driver on the internal storage, so no expansion card is needed. Almagne 01-30-2008, 08:10 PM Is it necessary to have the shell hack to run the driver? rai 01-31-2008, 07:52 PM I'm glad to report that Targus Universal USB Portable/Foldable Keyboard works fine with iLiad:) http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=PA875U01X I bought mine from eBay, one can find quite an affordable price there. mac 02-01-2008, 12:56 PM "Is it necessary to have the shell hack to run the driver?" I cannot get this keyboard to work with the iliad. Any tricks I need to know? I have downloaded the software to CF card. ran the app, but to no avail... Any help would be appreciated. Any help would be appreciated. Jim Ok, this is what I did. I installed the software, turned off the iLiad, plugged in the keyboard, turned the iLiad on. Then I went to Abiword, tried writing something (you are not supposed to pull out iLiad keyboard at this stage), at first nothing happened so I went out of Abiword, clicked on the icon saying "US keyboard driver" (or something of that sort), went back to Abiword, and then the keyboard was immediately working. After that, I didn't have any more problems with iLiad recognizing this keyboard. I always turn the iLiad on with keyboard already plugged in (I don't know if this matters, but I just do it this way). kissyfish 02-11-2008, 08:38 AM Ok, this is what I did. I have been booting it up while the unit is plugged in, and then running the USB KB app. But still no avail. Perhaps I have a faulty KB, do I have to do anything to activate the USB on the iliad? I will keep poking around. Thanks again, Jim carandol 02-11-2008, 11:12 AM Perhaps I have a faulty KB, Have you tried the keyboard with your PC? That should at least eliminate that possibility (assuming you have a USB port, of course!) |
