A melodramatic short novel.

A young man travels to Naples to see his fiancée, who is convalescing there. The locals announce that he is a Jettatore – a person afflicted with the evil eye. Unless the proper talismans are deployed, his gaze can kill. (This explains his accident-prone acquaintances.)

How can he protect his fiancée against this curse? Drastic measures are called for...
