Richard Harding Davis (18 April 1864—11 April 1916) wrote Notes of a War Correspondent in 1910. In it he describes several recent wars that he has covered including the US war against Spain in Cuba and the war in South Africa.

It has often been said that history is written by the winners and then by a person hiding behind a rock well away from the action. A war correspondent does not have the perspective of time to reflect the importance of the events he or she is reporting, they bring their own bias with them and see things through that lens.

This book offers a rare insight into that world of reporting a hundred years ago.

You are very welcome. Enjoy the book. There are several others by Davis that are also quite good.
