I ordered my Sony reader via the Sony reward CC program (found out about it on Fatwallet), And I just received it last week (my order was placed on 7/27). I was able to get Sony to honor the $50.00 connect credit + $100.00 Sony Classic credit.
I also ordered the Silk Pagoda DVD and received it weeks ago. (nice to have so many books in one place).

I have been lurking for the past couple of weeks in expectation of the reader. And this seems like a very friendly community.
