Just found out about this wonderful forum and thought I'd drop in and say hi. I'm a linguistically minded academic on the verge of taking the plunge and buying an iLiadReader. But before I do so, could some kind soul please fill me in on the following:

1) Is a colour iLiadReader in the planning stage or under development? Better not to wait for one?
2) To make sure that my own fonts appear faithfully, should I embed them in a PDF (or better alternative?) or can they be installed directly on the reader?
3) What is the best tool/programme for preparing texts for the iLiadReader?
4) Do illustrations appear faithfully?
5) What is the maximum size of a document? Or of all documents?
6) Can one do efficient word (or string) searches? Do the words found appear highlighted in context?

Well, I think I'd better stop there. I'd be very grateful for any tips on these points. Thanks in advance!

Welcome on board, Meskalamdug!

There is no indication for color E ink to become production-ready in the near future, but recent news talked a lot about it being developed.

2) To make sure that my own fonts appear faithfully, should I embed them in a PDF (or better alternative?) or can they be installed directly on the reader?

My suggestion is for you to visit our iLiad specific forums (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=99) and to search there. ;)
