View Full Version : My Yahoo!
DerekErb 12-02-2002, 06:35 AM Probably the biggest use I had for AvantGo was the My Yahoo! channel which linked to my My Yahoo! page(s) on Yahoo! and gave me all of my stock quotes, weather, selected news, etc.
I have just finished configuring all of the channels I found here on Turcic using the XML file and, after eliminating those I am not personally interested in, I am absolutely and seriously impressed and pleased with the product.
I never installed AvantGo on my Clié NR70v as it would not use the external memory. Now I have a Hi-Res+ 'AvantGo' client that works wonderfully with my MS! Definitely
Now if I could only get Yahoo! to work I'd be in PDA heaven!

scotts 01-14-2003, 06:49 AM I have the same question......How do I get my yahoo to work but the link you gave is dead. Can the solution be repeated or pasted back on the forum?
thanks for a wonderful product!
Alexander Turcic 01-14-2003, 07:09 AM I fixed the link above. Old links got screwed when I switched the forum software. Sorry about that.
Alex
Telhai 03-19-2003, 03:53 PM I think that link is dead again Alex :(
gyffes 03-20-2003, 11:35 AM Darnit. If I could get MyYahoo to work I'd be in heaven. Advices would be delightedable.

Sorry about that. It has to do with my second forum software change. All internal forum links should get fixed in the next 7 days. Above link now points to the correct Yahoo thread.

gyffes 03-20-2003, 03:52 PM Well, I got it to work -- sorta.
I have a list of mail and the like, but I cannot READ any of it. I'm clearly IN the system -- it even lists the contents of my folders -- but when I try to read a message, i get a message telling me to enter name/password.
Odd, no?

It sounds like you have the cookies not enabled. Did you check that Send / Receive Cookies are both enables?
Alexander Turcic 03-20-2003, 04:18 PM It is best if you use the Yahoo Channel that is included in WCC v1.1.0. Only make sure to enter your username and password in the link address before using it.
The advantage is that I've included all necessary include/exclude pattern settings in WCC.
gyffes 03-24-2003, 12:53 PM Cookies are on!
I'm telling you, it WORKED in that I had full access to my LIST of Yahoo! Mail folders as well as a full LIST of what email was there -- but whenever I clicked on an individual mail item (to read it), the next screen always read:
LOGIN NAME:
PASSWORD:
and there was no mail.
Odd, no?
gyffes 03-24-2003, 12:55 PM Oh, and it was your WCC Channel that worked, Alexander. It just didn't work QUITE far enough..
Alexander Turcic 03-25-2003, 01:37 AM will have a look at it today and see if anything changed to yahoo's mail.
Alexander Turcic 03-27-2003, 07:06 AM It seems Yahoo is doing things to its login. So the old way of accessing mail doesn't work anymore.
Must go deeper into it.
gyffes 03-27-2003, 08:25 AM Damn! Yahoo! Anyway!
Thanks, Alexander.
tekhead9 07-19-2003, 09:30 AM Has anyone found a fix for the Yahoo problem?
jsalasghs 08-09-2003, 04:45 PM I too am looking for a fix. He He.
jsalasghs 08-09-2003, 04:50 PM How do I access restricted material?

Must go deeper into it. Well well, today I've been doing updates for the next WCC release and was more than surprised to see the Yahoo Mail from WCC V1.1.0 working again! :)
Montalvo 04-01-2004, 04:52 PM Do you have a problem to access MyYahoo! with iSilo?
Check your UserAgent.
Read about it here:

**If you need a translation, use BabelFish (http://babelfish.altavista.com/)
Greetings from Mexico.
Alexander Turcic 04-03-2004, 02:50 AM Thanks for the link, Montalvo. TuPalMX is a wonderful resource, although I don't speak a single word Mexican (Babelfish is my friend...)!
starbuckk 04-10-2004, 12:57 PM Memo to the authors of iSiloX and Netfront:
Please add option to allow the User Agent value to be changed for each individual sites so we can get around the web masters that are using it to muddy up the content.
