This is the most difficult plug I've ever had on any phone or other unit! Usually I can simply plug in somthing, but on this thing I have to fidget and fidget to get it to fit! It's not slipping straight in, and I have to wiggle it both back and fort and from side to side to get it where it's supposed to go. The most reliable way to do it is by balancing the NC upside down in my lap, with the back pointing towards me, and then try to put it straight in. Still it's a struggle.

Is this a problem with my unit, or is this somebody else also have with these things? Except for that one thing I'm loving it, but this is a big problem for me, especially since this unit is for my 15 year old son, and he's not exactly known for being patient and careful... ;) I'm afraid he'll break this thing!

I have the same problem on my replacement Nook. The USB jack seems to be just a bit misaligned. I've a feeling QC isn't quite what it should be sometimes.

Hmm... I could get a replacement too, but I'm afraid shipping from Norway to the US will be rather expensive. You think there's much of a chance for breaking it if I'm careful? I'm worrying about that plastic pin in the bottom of the socket, not the USB cable.

I have the same problem. I think it might have to do with the two extra metal thingies (for a lack of a better word) on the mini-usb cable. I use the Nook Classic's mini-usb cable and that seems to fit in much easier, so unless I am charging NC, I use a generic cable to connect it to computer to transfer files.

OK, that I will try. Perhaps it's better to tell my son that he has too charge it all night with a regular HD2 charger?

I'm home now, and you're right. The regular micro USB fits a lot easier. Maybe it's just the cable that's no good? I'll contact B&N and ask them about this.

I think the cable is fine, the connector has 2 extra metal tabs to accelerate charging. It is supposed to be that way, me thinks.

Strange, since it's almost impossible to get in. :( I have mailed them, and then we'll see what they answer.

Mine can get in, but like, I charged my Nook for more than 3 hours and it was still orange. I was wondering if the device was defective and I touched it and it turned green...definitely weird

Yeah, that was loose. I don't have that problem. And charging with a HTC HD2 charger works very well, so I don't even think I need to give my son that pesky Nook charger.
