If there is a decent encyclopedia in PDF or BBEB format that can be put on the expansion card, please post a link. I have not had any success looking for one. Free is obviously better :)

PG are slowly working their way through a 1920s version of "Encyclopaedia Britannica". I don't know how far they've got so far, but it's a gargantuan undertaking.

The big hurdle with encyclopediae is the same as with dictionnaries on the reader. Search abilities. Once software is available for searching they'll come out.

You could probably do it reasonably well for an encyclopaedia with a hierarchical TOC.

Eg, at the top level, just display 26 "links" for the letters "A" to "Z". Have each one of those take you to a 2nd level page with links for "AA", "AB", "AC", ...., "AZ". Then at the next level, show a list of all the article names starting in "AA", etc.

That would be workable, and you'd be able to find any article by going through only 3 index pages.

Did someone write an app. like that?

Someone's done a Bible for the Reader which uses a similar system. That works pretty well.

Searching through a Bible can get quite complicated sometimes. I wonder if that system is efficient?

If you just want to look up a "chapter and verse" reference, it works very well indeed.
