I always have difficulty in connecting to the Kindle store. My device locates the wi fi router but most of the time does not pick up the signal. It is not a router problem because all my other devices connect perfectly. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to MobileRead CarolY.
I would suggest posting this on the Kindle forums, or, you can use the Kindle customer support found here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_navbox_top_kindlelg?nodeId=200503360).....c lick on the 'contact us' button on the right, sign into your account, and choose the 'call me' option........someone can call you right away and walk you thru problems.

On my Kindle 3, the strength bars seem to be lower than on my laptop in the same room. We know from the Apple debacle that the bars are not an accurate indication of signal strength, but are an indicator that you may not have a strong enough signal to connect successfully. Try turning the device in another direction, or try a vertical orientation rather than horizontal, or vs.
