I've got a pile of old ebooks in .evy format - which is an old Corel format (tried to compete with Adobe pdf in the early days). It was used with software called Envoy, apparently.

It's a long shot, since it's a pretty obscure file format (circa 1995) - but anyone got any clues on how they might be converted to something more modern?

Calibre doesn't recognize the format.

Your only hope, from what I know, is that if you can run an Envoy Reader you could print them using a "print to PDF" printer driver. The resulting PDF could either be viewed as is or used as the next step in a conversion process (convert to editable format like ePub in Calibre, edit ePub in Sigil to fix conversion flaws, convert to final desired format in Calibre).

One such PDF printer driver that I like is PrimoPDF:

What dwig said.

You could try here (http://userpage.fu-berlin.de/iseler/tools/read_envoy7.htm) or here (http://www.recoverybydiscovery.com/envoy/team/).
