I'm working on getting all of the PD works of Robert E. Howard up on here. I can't do a big anthology volume because I don't have BookDesigner, so I have to do smaller volumes so that you won't miss a table of contents too much.
Howard was a big boxing fan and his character, Sailor Steve Costigan, was a merchant sailor on the "Sea Girl" and also its champion boxer. Sometimes bare-knuckle, sometimes ring-certified, but always fighting somebody somewhere.
These are the first four short stories featuring Costigan. They are:
--The Pit of the Serpent (first appearance: Fight Stories, July 1929)
--The Bull Dog Breed (first appearance: Fight Stories, February 1930)
--Sailor's Grudge (first appearance: Fight Stories, March 1930)
--Fist and Fang (first appearance: Fight Stories, May 1930)
One of the great things about our little forum here is that it's really introduced me to loads of reading material I never knew about. I just assumed Howard wrote Conan and Solomon Kane. I had no idea just how much different stuff he wrote. And most of it's PD. So I am collecting and packaging it all for this forum. This really is the best hobby ever. :) Enjoy!
