Granted, it's not meant to be an e-book reader (yet), but it looks very much like it could become one. Seiko Epson demonstrated the prototype of an E Ink panel at the Epson Exceeding in Culture Forum this week that looks quite astonishing. The specs are nice, too:


Display: 7,1" (131mm x 98mm), 1024x768 or 1536x2048 pixels (there seem to be two versions out there)
5 greylevels
45% reflexion
0.5mm thick
weight: 15g


Btw, it seems to be the same prototype that was also shown at last year's SID exhibit.

I hate the button layout already. When is someone going to make a one handed operation reader? Am I asking too much?

This is a 'concept' piece. It's not *MEANT* to have realistic user control layouts. It's meant to impress gallery owners throughout Soho and Paris. You know... Art Critics with no ability to discern user-friendliness.
