Everyone might know this, but Baen books (sci-fi) are available for purchase as .rtf files from their website:
http://www.webscription.net/
There are bunches of books here that are not available on the Connect store at very reasonable prices. Their .rtf format works great, untouched, with my ereader.

It's been mentioned before, but it's good to mention it again -- we're always getting new folks through who wouldn't have seen the previous comments.
Personally, I'm very big on Baen e-books. I do modify the RTFs before I plop them on my Reader, but that's because I prefer a sans-serif font, and want the type a bit bigger than they come, but those are personal preference things, and nothing says I have to do them, aside from me. :)
Thanks for the reminder, jmdor.

Baen is great! Also try their free library and their Universe sci fi emagazine.

I do some minor modifications on the .rtf files, too, before converting to .pdf. Changing fonts is one, but I also go to a justified format, which, to me at least, adds a bit of finishing polish.

I just put the Baen RTFs right on mine and just set the font to Large.
