Questions about eBookwise 1150

I know the eBookwise 1150 is currently on sale for $89.95, and I am wanting to check it out, BUT I have some questions to see if this is what I want.

I did recently check out the the Sony 600 that my friend just got, which has the highlight & make notes features, and wanted to know if that was similiar to the 1150...

The sales text says the 1150 can do these features: _By simply touching the screen, you can enlarge the text size, bookmark pages, highlight passages, make notes, search for key words and hyperlink to other parts of the book._

A. If you highlight a passage, does it save a "file" that you can go back to review it quickly - how do you find the highlighted text?

B. How do you make notes? Does it give you a screen and a "keypad" to punch the text in & save it?

C. Can you highlight & make notes on user documents (like Word) that has been loaded on reader, or is it just ebooks?

D. How many text sizes are available on the 1150? S-M-L or more?

E. Is the Librarian program needed to use 1150, and how much to purchase if it is?

Any insight/help would be so helpful! Thanks

Newbie question re: registering

Just got my 1150. In order to purchase it I had to create an account with ebookwise. Did that. Read here in the "New to ebookwise" sticky post that I need to register the device. I go to the link and am asked for my device ID. Having no clue what that is or where to find it I tried to register using the device itself, (connected to my pc via USB).

Can't do it, tells me an account already exists. How do I register the device ? Is it important ? I have no intention of buying anything from ebookwise, I'll be getting my books from Project Gutenberg.

TIA,

Specifying Zoom Fonts

After many years one feature I've never been able to use the way I would like is the text zoom. I think this would be really cool If I could make it work the way I want.

I use eBook Publisher to create my imps, usually from imported HTML files. I like this method as it gives me the best control over margins, justification and font choices.

I really don't much like most of the fonts, the serif fonts are hard to read and the monospaced are, well, monospaced. The sans-serif are much too big for my taste. Typically, I do everything with smallfont, but it doesn't zoom. Small font can be really small for some reading conditions.

I would really like to build a file where the smaller font is smallfont and the zoomed font is one of the others I can specify. I am guessing this simply isn't possible, but I thought I would check!

Thanks all.

eBookwise Librarian / 1150 and Windows 7

Quick notes on getting eBookWise Librarian working properly with Windows 7

First off after you get librarian installed etc you most like have found a error saying that you have XXX number of books available in your bookshelf but none are in the right format for your reader.

Also if you noticed you should have this error in the messages section for Librarian:
Error opening\creating HOSTS fileerror=<5>

The problem is that the permissions on the Host file for windows 7 wont allow Librarian to modify it.

Here is what you need to do,

Got to this directory:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Right click on the file named ... hosts

Click Properties
Click the Security tab
Click the EDIT button
Click on the Users option (in the window labled Group or User Names)

In the window labled "Permissions for Users"
click all the buttons in the "Allow" column

now click "OK"
Click ok again to close the Hosts Poperties window

You should be all set now, restart eBookWise Librarian and you should be able to access your books again.

===========================

This procedure is also what had to be done for Vista it appears.

I tracked down this information from the person who created Librarian on thier website at www.breeno.org/eBook.

The link to the specific section talking about the change is:
