In the Introduce Yourself Here - Welcome Guests and New Members (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1410) thread in the *Introduce Yourself* (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49) sub-forum, I would think it a good suggestion that new members be pointed towards and familiarize themselves with Posting Guidelines (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_posting_guidelines).

That thread is closed, but this simple addition might be helpful to new members and beneficial to us all.

This is probably mentioned to new members as a condition when signing up, but I can't remember reading it, and I didn't see it in desertgrandma's welcome (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43794) either, so a bit of a reminder may be appropriate.

Existing members should also be reminded of these guidelines, and I'm glad to see that moderators are doing just that in certain threads.

If this is already mentioned elsewhere, never mind. :o

Thanks.

I was trying to send a PM to another member. I am pretty sure I hit the submit button but it is not in my sent folder. I have only sent one other PM but it was in response to one received. I am not an experienced formum user. I tried searching for some kind of PM help but found nothing. Am I limited on PM usage? Like I have to post so many times before I can originate a PM? Should I just try again? I don't want the receiver to feel like I am pestering them. Can I attach something in a PM? :help:

Sorry if this in the wrong forum. I could not find a forum for general questions on forum usage?!

While browsing the forums, I have run onto several references to "check out the info on our Wiki page", with an accompanying link. Always good info there.

Then I decide to just go "check out our Wiki page" by clicking the link at the top of the screen, and all I get is an ad for Accutane and a search field.

Is that all there is? Am I missing something?

From the references in the various threads, I thot I'd go to a page with links to info input and updated by MB members.

Figured perhaps the forum would be a good place to find out what the story is.

How about an Events section?

Hi all...there seem to be more and more events and even though there is a Meet-Up Prefix (BTW thanks for that, great visual tag..:thanks:) would it be better to have an _Events forum _between "Flea Market" and "Lounge".

1. The lounge is a very high traffic area and "Meet-Up" posts quickly move off the first page.
2. It's nice to be able to find meet-up events quickly and easily.

If the software can handle it .....maybe in calendar format??

Many thanks for a great service.

Sony forums are a mess

Yes, I am saying that the Sony forums are a mess. What we need is a forum section for Sony in general and then sub forums for the specific devices.

The problem is that how do I post a message that pertains to ALL Sony Readers without duplicating the message?

[Suggestion] Design an eBook Reader contest

Hi Mobile Read admins and fans.

I had this :bulb2: idea :bulb2: the other day, but only got around to post it today.

How fun would it be to have a contest to design an ebook reader, with so many heavy to light users here, I'm sure a lot of great ideas would pop up.

I believe we could even have 2 categories - Harware design and User Interface Design.

Maybe some manufacturers or other websites could even contribute to a prize, even if the isn't one, the glory, the fun of creation and a nice custom avatar would be cool too.

I think we can start with pooling ideas and then on to imagining awesome devices.

What do you all think?
