Sony bookstore - where are the proof readers?

I'm getting annoyed with the typos found in purchased ebooks from Sony's store. Though I'm not sure who is responsible for the conversion, the publisher or the sellers, the quality is frequently very bad. If they are using OCR software to make the conversion, there still should be someone proof reading - if they are going to sell the books at bookstore prices.

How do I make my complaints known?

PDF Zooming Issue on 505 after conversion

I was lucky enough to get a copy of a book I was searching for for free. Unfortunately, each page of this book was in the form of a JPG picture. So, I converted all of the pictures into one PDF file. It looks serviceable on my computer screen, but when I transferred it to the 505, the PDF print is so small I can't see it, and it won't zoom in. Now, I have files that were original PDF's that do reflow like they're supposed to. Why doesn't the converted one do the same thing?

Also, if anyone has a better idea as to what I can do with the JPGS to make them more reader-friendly on the 505, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!!

So many new e-readers: should I wait to buy e-books?

I have a Sony 505, which I really enjoy using. I'm not sure if I will get a non-Sony reader next year. I know that I can convert Sony bookstore files into other formats via Calibre (right?), should I wait to buy more ebooks until my e-reader plans are definite? I'm worried that the conversions will be imperfect or won't take advantage of new e-reader capabilities.

Russian books: 2 probs (Pgs msg and Lib3.0)

OK, so I tried to get the gist of this post in the title and keep it short as well! :p

Yesterday I downloaded several Russian books in fb2 format, and converted them to lrf using the old fb2lrf program. (It always worked before.) I came up with 2 problems:

1) The converted books would not display properly on the new Sony Library software (v3). I vaguely remember dropping a folder with some fonts into a Sony Connect folder way back when, but could not find this info here after some searching. Can anyone tell me how to get the new Library software to display Russian books properly? (fonts are not embedded afaik--just converted from fb2 to lrf.)

2) More importantly, when loading the books onto my old 500 Reader, it turns out that *every second page is missing*. I doubt the source fb2 files are messed up. So, is the conversion bad, or is there something wrong with the Sony Library software when loading the converted files onto the 500? (This has worked fine in the past, but I haven't done it in a while, definitely not since upgrading the Sony software to Library 3.0.)

I believe I'm using the fb2lrf version 0.0.16.something. Is there a newer/better version to use? I like this simple program for its basic drag-and-drop interface, works even with folders containing fb2 files. And it always worked fine before.

Any help would be great. (gf is now out of town with a bunch of half/un-readable books on the 500, but I'd like to fix this ASAP.)

anyone know if Gormenghast (either as one combined volumeor the three seperate books) is available (legally) in an electronic format?

I have a PRS500 so a suitable format would be a bonus

Can I give ebooks away that I own?

I have been reading free ebooks from this site since I got my reader which must be nearly 2years ago. I just brought The Lost Symbol - By Dan Brown which cost nearly fourteen pounds. I feel that I have been robbed, silly really, as I get to read the book which is the objective.

Am I allowed to pass on the ebook when I have read it? I would normally do this with a normal book. What do I own? And If i can share it how many times. If I could give the book away after I'm done with it.

Thanks
